The second official trailer for The Black Phone is out, and I don’t think audiences are quite prepared for the scares that await them when summer rolls around.
Promotion for the film has been frightening enough with the release of photos showing Ethan Hawke in various masks and a large top hat, looking like a demonic magician. The trailer reveals even more frights with footage of a levitating, possibly deceased teen, and Ethan Hawke in even more terror-inducing footage.
The Black Phone tells the story of Finney Shaw, the sixth teen to be abducted by a serial killer, whose only chance of survival might be a disconnect phone on the wall. Adapted from a short story by bestselling author Joe Hill, The Black Phone is going to be the film that brings some chills to your just beginning summertime.
Directed by Scott Derrickson, who co-wrote the script with C. Robert Cargill, The Black Phone will star Ethan Hawke, James Ransone, Jeremy Davies, Mason Thames and Madeleine McGraw. The Black Phone will finally see its theatrical release—finally!—later this year just on June 24, just in time to start off the summer movie going experience.
