I love The Exorcist!
I've loved that film ever since I first saw it in October of 1998 while staying the weekend with my Nana. I vividly remember the hunt for the novel by William Peter Blatty, the second I got my California DMV Learner's Permit. This video from UncannyCarlos brings those childhood horrors screaming back to the forefront of my grey matter with the unboxing of an animatronic of frightening proportions, inspired by Regan MacNeil from the William Friedkin classic film.
Just before the spookiest day of them all hits, UncannyCarlos, an amazing cosplayer who pulls off the best Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat that I've ever seen, and more recently, Jill Valentine from the video game series, Resident Evil, treats his fans and followers to a most frightening unboxing of a one-of-a-kind Exorcist Halloween decoration.
Standing at about 5 foot tall, this Regan animatronic features the likeness of actress Linda Blair, and the gravelly, demonic voice work made famous by actress Mercedes McCambridge. UncannyCarlos warns you about the scares ahead in his video, and I'll be darned if I don't admit that my own volume was on high when the Regan animatronic kicked to life, giving me quite the scare.
For those looking to get their hands on one of these frightening Halloween decorations, I'm afraid you might be too late. Spirit Halloween's website shows that they are already out of stock, even at their $279.99 price tag. But, if the demand remains high, maybe you'll see more figures coming to stores next year when Spirit Halloween stores and our beloved holiday roll back around for 2023.
