The title pretty much says it all, the upcoming Blumhouse adaptation of the novel by Stephen King will be rated R for violent content.

Those familiar with the story of Charlie McGee know that her story is not the typical one of most children, and in the upcoming Firestarter, audiences will once again find out why in an adaptation from director Keith Thomas and writer Scott Teems. Starring Ryan Kiera Armstrong, as Charlie, who is on the run with her father Andy, played by Zac Efron, both of them fleeing a dark agency known as The Shop.
Firestarter will also star Sydney Lemmon, Michael Greyeyes, Tina Jung and Gloria Reuben, and is expected to premiere sometime later this year, though no known release date has been mentioned yet.
