Game publisher Ravensburger and game designer Scott Rogers bring a terrifying, new adventure to the tabletops of board game fans, one that any horror/sci-fi lover will be absolutely thrilled to play.
Coming this summer, Alien: Fate of the Nostromo will be available to purchase, offering one to five players the chance of strategically navigating their character and the rest of the Nostromo crew, towards an end that offers either survival or an encounter with the Xenomorph, or on a harder difficulty, both the Xenomorph and Ash.
“The goal is to play the movie,” said Rogers, sitting down with io9’s Germain Lussier, who originally broke the story. Rogers continued by telling Lussier, “I wanted to make sure that that thrill and that tension that is so amazing in the film, why we still love the film to this day, was represented [and] given justice in the game. So, of course, the goal is to create these moments of tension as you are hustling through the Nostromo to get the heck out of there as this murderous creature is wandering the halls and the air vents and whatnot.”
Mix together the popularity of board games and the never-ending love for the Alien franchise, there is no doubt in my mind that board game enthusiasts will jump at the chance to play as a crewmember of the Nostromo. They will get that chance on August 1, when Alien: Fate of the Nostromo becomes available wherever board games are sold.
