Bruce Campbell sat down with Jack King over at Collider to explain where his most famous of horror icons will, or will not be going.

That's right, Bruce Campbell has officially retired his larger-than-life role Ash Williams saying, "I’m done playing Ash, so that determines a lot of where we go with the franchise without that character, but there are more stories."
The actor well known for his wit and sharp sense of humor went further to say, "I’ve retired the character because I physically just can’t do him anymore, so why bother? Why do I do it? It’s time to hang up the chainsaw."
With the biggest character in the franchise laying low for now, where does the franchise go from here? "We’re doing it book-focused these days. That darn book gets around, and that’s how we play it. That book wound up in an urban environment with a single mom, so let’s see what happens. It’s fun to fiddle with it. There’s not gonna be any traditional form of Evil Dead anymore."
It looks like the time is here for Evil Dead's second biggest star the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis, to take the reins of the franchise and keep the evil, scares and blood coming.
