It is happening and it is coming to us in a 10 episode run exclusively on CBS All Access. Executive producer Josh Boone will be bringing Stephen King's The Stand, once again to the television screen. Ben Cavell will be writing alongside Boone, with Boone also set to direct the apocalyptic tale of survivors of a deadly plague, who have to do battle against the dark figure Randall Flagg.

Jimmy Miller, Richard P. Rubinstein, and Roy Lee will executive produce along with Owen King, King's son, who will produce as well.
The Stand first saw light on ABC as a 4 part miniseries starring Gary Sinise, Rob Lowe, Molly Ringwald and the late Ruby Dee. When pressed for a word on the new retelling the master of horror says, "I'm excited and so very pleased that The Stand is going to have a new life on this exciting new platform," said King. "The people involved are men and women who know exactly what they're doing; the scripts are dynamite. The result bids to be something memorable and thrilling. I believe it will take viewers away to a world they hope will never happen."
