Well we got an early Halloween treat and it looks frightening.
The first trailer to the new Pet Sematary movie has released and it looks like it is going to be a truly scary theater experience. Following the Creed family, the trailer shows the horror the family will endure as they start their lives in Maine.
The new Pet Sematary sees Jason Clarke ("Mudbound," "White House Down") stepping into the role of Louis Creed, a loving father and doctor who starts a friendly relationship with Jud Crandall played by John Lithgow (HBO's "Dexter," "The Campaign"), a role superbly done by Fred Gwynne ("The Munsters" (1964), "My Cousin Vinny") in the late 80s film. Once the family begins to settle in, things start to take a turn for the worse and one frightening event leads to another, all due to an old cemetery and cursed burial ground that brings the dead back to life.
The first film adaption of Stephen King’s novel was directed by Mary Lambert and released in 1989. Since then there has never been a more frightening toddler in cinematic history than the portrayal of Gage Creed by Miko Hughes ("Mercury Rising," "Zeus & Roxanne"). We will see if the new Gage can hold up to the original as I’m sure fans of old and new will be filling theaters come April of 2019.
