Insidious: The Red Door has had quite an impressive weekend, earning over $30 million since it's North American release on Friday. The latest installment in the chilling franchise took the top spot away from the latest Indiana Jones film, which is currently in a viewer decline.
Reviews for Insidious: The Red Door are mixed, with the film currently sitting at a 6.1/10 on IMDB. Having exceeded its opening weekend predictions by over $10 million, the Patrick Wilson directed film enjoys the second best opening weekend, just behind Insidious: Chapter 2, which earned $40 million.
In his directorial debut, Patrick Wilson returns to the franchise to star alongside Rose Byrne, Ty Simpkins, and Lin Shaye as Elise Rainier. Written by Scott Teems and produced by Oren Peli, James Wan, Jason Blum, and Leigh Whannell, Insidious: The Red Door enjoys its first week of release at the top spot, and could break $50 million by next weekend.
