Sitting down for an interview with Slash Film's Lex Briscuso, actor Justin Long mentioned that he, and other cast from 2014's Tusk, recieved a text message from director Kevin Smith, making them believe that a sequel to the strange, and at times disturbing walrus film, was just more than consideration.
"You'll be happy to hear, Kevin just announ– I mean, I guess they're talking about it. They're doing Tusk 2, I think. He texted us all the other day, Haley Joel Osment and Genesis Rodriguez, and he told us that he wanted to do it, and I thought it was a joke. And then I realized he was being serious," says Justin Long.
News of Tusk 2 came as early as 2020, when director Kevin Smith mentioned that a new Tusk story could be told, that would see the return of Justin Long's character Wallace Bryton, who would be taking over in a way, the character of Howard Howe, played by the late Michael Parks. I didn't think a sequel would be possible without Michael Parks but if Kevin Smith has a story mind, I for one would be happy to see it green lit, and fast.
