I thought I was prepared for Mike Flanagan's latest venture into horror, but this trailer truly showed me that I am in for so much more. The man who has breathed new life into the horrifying works of Shirley Jackson and Stephen King, now looks to have done the same with Edgar Allan Poe's "The Fall of the House of Usher" and it looks brilliant.
Starring a totally stacked cast including Carla Gugino, Willa Fitzgerald, Mary McDonnell, Kate Siegel, Bruce Greenwood, Carl Lumbly, Annabeth Gish, Henry Thomas, and Mark Hamill, The Fall of the House of Usher tells the gothic horror drama of the family Usher, wealth built from a pharmaceutical company, who start dying one by one when a mysterious woman from their past shows up.
Created by Mike Flanagan, The Fall of the House of Usher will be directed by Michael Fimognari, and looks to borrow from other well-known works of Poe, as well. The trailer was an enjoyable watch and I will be eagerly awaiting The Fall of the House of Usher's premiere next month on Netflix, on Thursday, October 12th.
