NEW ROLE: Melissa Barrera Cast In 'Scream 5'

Mexican actress Melissa Barrera joins Courteney Cox and David Arquette for the latest film in the Scream franchise, Scream 5.

Barrera, who can be seen in STARZ' Vida and next year in Jon M. Chu's In The Height, has secured a pivotal role in the latest Scream film and is the first to be cast, who is not returning from any of the previous films. More announcements are sure to come as casting continues, with filming still on track to start in Wilmington, North Carolina, later this year.

Scream 5 will be directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett based on the screenplay by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick. Creator Kevin Williamson will executive produce.
