TRAILER: A New ‘Child’s Play’ Trailer Drops

Back in November of last year we were introduced to a short video that showed off the new Buddi doll, a product of tech business Kaslan Corp. No longer a Good Guy doll, the new Chucky will come with features like wifi compatibility and voice recognition; all to be released on June 21.

But before that release Orion Pictures has been nice enough to release the official trailer for our viewing pleasure.

From the producers of last years hit IT we get the new Child’s Play which once again sees the young Andy Barclay in fear of his life as he is pursued by his new hi-tech Buddi doll, Chucky. Aubrey Plaza and Brian Tyree Henry star with Gabriel Bateman filling the role of Andy who is now in his teens with a hearing disability.

It does appear that the story has changed from the original Child’s Play (1989) but that of course is for purposes of updating the material for today’s audience.

Come July, we shall see if this Child’s Play remake can scare up some frights, or will it go the way of horror remakes before it, what with Friday the 13th (2009) and A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010) never producing sequels after their initial releases.
