Blumhouse has secured the rights to Stephen King's novel Later, a crime story with hints of the supernatural that was published back in March of last year.
Later will be adapted into a limited series by Blumhouse Television and will serve as a starring vehicle for actress Lucy Liu. The series will center on Liu's literary agency owner, Tia, a single mother to Jamie, a young boy with the ability to talk to dead people. Emmy nominated and True Blood producer Raelle Tucker will serve as the series' creator, having already written the pilot episode.
Later is still in its early pre-production stage, and I can't wait to hear what more comes from the series. I'm most excited for more casting news for what should be another thrilling Stephen King adaptation.
